Location: Leicester
**Summary of the Role**
Our client - a Trust based in Leicester - is seeking an experienced finance manager / management accountant to lead a small accounts team on a full-time permanent basis.
- Effectively & supportively manage 4x accounts staff with orders, invoices, payroll, contracts, statutory returns & documentation,
- Month-end responsibilities incl. calculation of accruals & prepayment, monthly balance sheet reconciliations,
- Review balances & outstanding transactions, investigate & resolving issues (escalating where appropriate to ensure accurate month-end figures are up to date,
- Maintaining VAT compliance, submit VAT returns to HMRC,
- Prepare year-end audits, liaising & assisting auditors throughout process,
- Ensuring issues raised by internal scrutiny / external Auditors are actioned with immediate effect and/or agree an action plan with CFO to address these in a timely manner.
- Leading on year-end procedures & processes to final accounts,
- Management of the Trust’s finance systems, supporting implementation, development & maintenance of financial & payroll software,
- Negotiating on behalf of the Trust with a range of external & internal contacts, acting as its representative on working parties, meetings etc,
- Providing information (as required) to support Group Principals / Operations Managers in budgeting, funding / grant bids & preparing appraisals for various projects,
- Monitoring & maintaining comprehensive set of records for all financial transactions / budgets, working with the CFO & external financial consultants / auditors to implement good practice & compliance,
- Safekeeping & maintenance of information in line with Trust / legal requirements,
- Personnel development reviews, continuous programme of training / development for centrally employed Trust Finance staff incl. the delivery of in-house training,
- Manage HR related matters related to Finance Team (incl. absence).
**The Right Person**
- Part OR fully-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent,
- Previous management accounting / FM experience is essential,
- Minimum of two years’ successfully managing & developing a finance team, building strong relationships with key stakeholders,
- To deliver & improve efficiency of financial processes & reporting,
- Effective communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management,
- Excellent planning, organisation and deadline time keeping skills,
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision,
- IT skills incl. MS Excel, MIS & cloud-based accounts software. Experience with PS Financials / IRIS desirable.
- Role is based at Trust offices, with some adhoc travel between sites as required,
- A clean DBS record.
