Materials Controller

We are looking for a Materials Controller to join our Machine Shop team within Score Group based at our facility in Peterhead.

**About the role**

The Materials controller will be responsible for assisting the Senior Materials Controller in the full cycle of materials management within the Machine Shop. This will include the receipt of goods coming in, the management and preparation of raw materials - including use of a band saw to cut materials to drawing specifications - and the packing and shipping of goods.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions
- Ensure that all materials are selected and cut as per Drawings/Instructions
- Ensure that all materials arriving at the machine shop are checked against the P.O. as per Score Procedures/Standards
- Ensure that all cutting lists are accurately and regularly updated
- Report any damage to plant within the machine shop Store is reported immediately
- Ensure that there is no cross contamination of materials within the Store
- Train any Apprentices/New Machine Shop Personnel on the cutting and recording of materials
- Ensure any materials that have issues regarding certification are place in the QA quarantine area
- Advise Machine Shop Supervisors of any shortfall of materials
- Be willing to assist machine shop driver during busy/holiday periods
- Ensuring all Machine Shop QA Cards are completed correctly
**Qualifications**
- SVQ level 2 Warehousing and Stores or equivalent is desirable but previous experience will be taken into consideration
- Forklift License is preferred
- Banksman Slinging course is preferred
**Experience**
- Previous experience within a Stores or warehouse environment is essential
- Computer literate - is essential
- Previous experience of the equipment and machinery used within a stores/warehouse environment, including forklifts is preferred
- An understanding of stock control systems is preferred
- Previous experience using a bandsaw - desired but not essential
