Assistant Merchandiser

ThruDark Co-Founders are seeking to recruit a dynamic Merchandise Assistant to enhance to support our Merchandise and Supply Chain Department. You will be responsible for planning and managing stock and promotions to maximise sales and margin across all channels, whilst achieving stock targets. This position will partner closely with the product team and commercial team, ensuring supply chain performance, delivering stock on-time. Working closely with factories to plan orders, manage factory capacities and provide flexibility in the supply chain and ultimately delivery world-class product.

This is a permanent, full-time role and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Poole, Dorset UK.

**Key Duties**:

- Work cross-functionally within the product team to ensure company product strategy is maintained, all aspects of production and Planning are delivered on time, in full.
- Maintain weekly phased plans by channel and category for sales, margin, and stock, taking traded history and planned future events into consideration.
- Work with the wider team to maintain the range plan at style, colour level which satisfies strategic channel and financial requirements.
- Plan seasonal pricing and promotional activity together with the commercial dept and in line with overall strategy, supported by financial evaluation.
- Complete thorough weekly re-forecasting and trading proposals, ensure that in season activity maximises profitability whilst maintaining efficient controls of stock.
- Work with world-class supply base ensure orders are placed on-time
- Work with critical path to make certain stock is delivered on-time.
- Manage and move purchase order in-line with financial requirements, communicating movements with the wider team.
- Manage fabric and trims orders in line with PO requirements.
- Review and cost markdown events and promotional activity, calculating the effect on margin and profit.
- Manage the availability of stock to ensure maximum profitability, launch dates are met.
- Work closely Ecommerce Team to ensure all information is handed over in a timely fashion and product is set up correctly.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Minimum 1 year experience in Merchandising at Junior or Assistant level.
- Previous experience in fashion or outdoor an advantage.
- Highly numerate and able to interpret data to determine decision making, work to budgets and financial plans.
- Strong communication skills at all levels.
- Strong organisation skills - able to change plans in line with business needs.
