Robertson Bell are excited to be partnering with this unique charity based between Reading and Slough, offering hybrid working with three days in the office and two days working from home. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will be responsiblefor the day-to-day accounting procedures including leading on the management and statutory accounts as well as line managing two direct reports.
**The main duties of the Head of Finance are as follows**:
- Preparing reports for various committee meetings and the board and presenting this data.
- Taking full responsibility on producing financial accounts, management accounts, filing VAT returns and ensuring this is completed in a timely manner.
- Authorising transactional payments for a wide rage of purchase ledger, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Be the first point of contact with auditors whilst building additional external relationships and being able to answer any queries that may arise.
- Playing a crucial part in system and process development, ensuring the finance team have a focus on continuous improvement.
- Be a fully qualified Accountant from a recognised accounting body.
- Have previously produced a set of statutory accounts.
- Previously have line managed or supervised an individual or a small team.
- Have good Excel skills.
- Preferably have worked in the Charity sector (please note this is not essential).
- Have an excellent understanding of Finance functions.
