As a Community Sports Officer, you’ll use your passion for sport as well as your people skills to deal with a wide range of stakeholders such as national governing bodies and local sports and community groups with whom you’ll build strong relationships to support your community outreach projects and plans.
You’ll work closely with the Sport Development & Community Sports Manager, General Managers, Partnership Manager and our local partners to get more people more active, more often, specifically in community locations including Community centres, sports clubs and school settings to name but a few.
Knowledge of national governing bodies / sports development structures and external funding, plus membership to relevant professional sports governing bodies is essential. As is your knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and First Aid qualification, you’ll also cover coaching sessions when required.
Excellent communication skills will be key as you’ll need to build relationships with a variety of staff and external partners.
