The Data Governance Specialist as part of the Marketing Data Governance, Assessment, Management and Education (DGAME) will lead the development of the metadata management processes and procedures to align them with the data management standards and policies. This position will be the driver for optimal design of the data management tool (Collibra), identifying and understanding business and technical lineage, accessibility, findability and reliability requirements. Defining the build and working closely with the development team to enhance and maintain the data catalog, policy and standards library, the data lineage, the data quality, privacy, and issues dashboards as well as how to translate metadata usage into business enabled processes. This position leads the interaction with technology stakeholders, business data owners / stewards and report content owners to ensure metadata is certified and kept current and compliant. This position is also responsible for creating and refining the Data Governance Program standards and processes aligned to Metadata, master and reference data management to promote data accountability, validate compliance, and track data governance effectiveness through scorecards and status reports.

**Join us as a Data Governance Specialist where you will create and manage the metadata landscape across Anglo American Marketing to create a map of how data is created and consumed across systems, processes and teams, including socialization and adoption of the metadata catalogue to transform data culture within the business on how data is found and accessed.**

**Key Responsibilities include**:
**Performance & Delivery**
- Lead and partner with business owners of data and other team members of the DGAME Team
- Create and manage comprehensive data management processes to be automated in the Collibra and participation in data governance efforts
- Set prioritisation to run the agile implementation process for all metadata management processes and implementation roadmap
- Metamodel linkage between technical Business Glossaries and Collibra assets
- Validate completeness of data lineage between the point of data element creation (system of record) and the point where it is consumed by business users (trusted data sources) and design processes for implementation to certify CDEs and Reports
- Maintain metadata standards and procedures
- Create requirements for all Collibra implementation and manual processes, including issues, catalog, lineage, privacy data quality and risk
- Devise improvements to current procedures and develop methods for increasing efficiency, accuracy, and performance of metadata solutions
- As a metadata specialist, lead efforts to investigate, conduct interviews, and perform analysis related to current data lifecycle processes across multiple business data domains
- Participate in business data process modeling sessions and documentation
- Designing Dashboard and Power BI integrations for Collibra platform
- Conduct periodic reviews of the data catalogue to ensure compliance with the data governance standards and policies
- Participate in a variety of activities related to data governance, data strategy implementation, data modeling, data requirements, risk assessment, identification of data challenges, modeling, data manipulation, and/or requirement elicitation
- Facilitate the running of the Marketing Data Governance Forums across the identified data domains.
- Assist in the onboarding new Data Owners and Stewards
- Ensure Data Governance Processes are well understood and adhered to by the Data Squads (Data owners, stewards and custodians).

**People/Teams/Stakeholder management**
- Work with SMEs to perform business requirements analysis for business rules, business processes and documents associated with population, maintenance and completeness of metadata
- Assist the Marketing Head of Data (DGAME) in driving Office of Data Management initiatives
- Provide periodic status reports and updates on key business partners’ progress towards implementing metadata management
