**Support Worker - Birmingham**
**Salary and benefits**
For your hard work and commitment, you will be paid a **salary of £18,000 - £21,000 (£9.50-£10.70 per hour)** plus a car allowance of 35p per mile, and a very desirable employee package, which includes 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays,a company laptop, phone, and iPad, and**yearly pay reviews**
**Location and hours**
Birmingham - 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday - Full-time.
**The company and the service**
We are in partnership and collaborating with a fantastic client who are a registered care and support charity, who specialise in delivering homes, services, and innovation for the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands and providing support to vulnerableadults. They aim to provide the very best service, and they would love your help to continue that process. This service is for individuals who find themselves living in precarious housing or at risk of eviction but not statutorily homeless as defined by theHomeless Reduction Act.
**Overview of the role**
The client is looking for a full-time Support Worker to provide person centred support to customers, reporting any safeguarding concerns in line with policy and procedure. To support customers with life skills and empower them to make a positive contributionto society and become self-sufficient; this includes recording case studies that reflect achievements of outcomes.
You will be based out in the community - covering the following areas - Edgbaston, Hockley, Harborne, Handsworth, Northfield, Acocks Green.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Casework management
- Organisational responsibilities
- Financial budgeting
- Assistance with GP registration
- Signposting for drugs and alcohol support
- Accommodation search (long-term accommodation)
- Access to education provision
- Overcoming employability issues
- Avoiding rent arrears
- Reducing anti-social behaviour
**Required Skills, Experience, & Knowledge**
- Passion and desire to help people who are struggling with their tenancy and are at risk of homelessness
- **A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle - ESSENTIAL**:
- A DBS on the update service
- Professional or personal experience working with young people or adults with learning disabilities or mental health
- Transferable skills which could enable you to support vulnerable adults who are at risk of homelessness
