- Job description- We need your help to protect the environment in East Anglia. You will support our work to improve water quality, manage water resources sustainably and make environmental plans at a catchment level.
This role will combine providing administrative support to our team whilst developing skills in environment planning.
We will train and help you to develop and learn new technical skills. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

- Managing an online mailbox, co-ordinating responses to internal and external enquiries.
- Maintaining electronic and hard-copy records, and information.
- Updating our water environment evidence base systems, data, and plans.
- Advising water management partners and abstraction licence holders when water is not available.
- Acting as one of our records management leads.

As your skills develop you are likely to become more involved in our technical water resources, water quality and catchment planning work.
The role will be based at our Brampton or Ipswich offices. We will accommodate working from home, but you will be required to attend your base location on a regular basis.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team- You’ll join our friendly and welcoming Integrated Environment Planning team, which has experts in water quality, water resources and catchment planning. We work with internal and external partners using data and evidence to identify environmental challenges then find ways to solve them.
- Experience/skills required You have an interest in the environment in East Anglia.
- You are comfortable using data and information in your work.
- You are familiar with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, as we work with a lot of spreadsheets.
- You can communicate with a wide range of customers in different situations such as by telephone, online meetings, and face to face.
- You are organised and can work as part of a team.

A full UK driving licence would be an advantage as there may be some travelling between offices from time to time.
