Builder Supervisor Within a Heritage Site
2 days ago
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Builder Supervisor within the heritage site of Trinity College, Cambridge.
Under the leadership of the Clerk of Works, the team provides maintenance and support services, which ensure the upkeep of the historic and modern buildings alongside the wider estate.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate a full understanding of the skills required to maintain historic buildings, including lime plastering/rendering, heritage brickwork and stonework, paving and drainage, floor and wall tiling and roofing (with mixed heritage materials), as well as an ability to put those skills into practice. Be able to identify materials (including clunch blocks and similar) to ensure the correct methods and materials are used in their repair; demonstrate experience in all aspects of modern construction methods and able to share those skills to mentor and improve their own skill set alongside that team.

The work includes climbing staircases, accessing awkward areas including confined spaces and walking/cycling between areas across the extensive site.
All equipment to complete the role is provided along with a uniform (including appropriate PPE) which should be worn at all times when working.
