Harsco Rail offers contract services for Rail Grinding and has been grinding rail for over 50 years, covering more than 300,000 km (192,000 miles) in the last 7 years.
**Job Description** JOB PURPOSE**
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the Stoneblower Fleet
- Maximise machine availability

**Competency**

Qualifications & Experience
- _ Is likely to be time served apprenticeship in an engineering _discipline, or Preferred recognised qualification as a mechanical / electrical / maintenance engineer

Technical Skills
- Knowledge & understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, electronic, fault finding & repair_
- _ IT literate including basic knowledge of Microsoft systems _
- _Calibration & understanding of rail plant operating _
- _Competent in current maintenance standards_

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**
- _ Report any defects found on machine & carry out repairs within required competency level for the role or under instruction from field service engineer or supervisor_
- _ Ensure planned maintenance duties are completed in line with company policies & procedures & work instructions_
- _ Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S_
- _ Inform supervisor of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control_
- _ Operate machine for maintenance purposes, as required_
- _ Ensure regularly updated & compliant with company policies & procedures_
- _ Awareness of company communication via notice boards_
- _ Be responsible for the care of company assets_
- _ To undertake training as required_
- _ Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems_
- _ Comply with the Company Code of Conduct_

**DIMENSIONS**
- _ Complete daily, weekly & some 1,3,6 monthly maintenance tasks inclusive of minor repairs on the Stoneblower fleet _
- _Manage fuel/stone deliveries and waste collections_
- _ Manage stock control_
