We’re excited to be recruiting to join the force as a Programme Manager. We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the Transformation Team.
**The role**:
Working as part of the Transformation Team, you will assist in the redevelopment of our Headquarters site in Welwyn Garden City and will deliver estate efficiencies throughout the force, driving a new culture and focus on smarter working.
Supported by a team of both Officers and Staff, you will be developing and utilising organisational analytical capabilities, proven change management methodologies and products to successfully deliver significant and meaningful change, influencing the future of policing in Hertfordshire.
**Key duties and responsibilities to include**:
- Promote a positive attitude to change management, influencing improvement to policing by negotiation and liaison with senior managers
- Responsible for day-to-day management and progression of high profile programmes of work
- Manage and develop staff enabling them to carry out their functions effectively
- Develop corporate standards for all programmes and projects throughout the organisation, using appropriate methodology. Coach and provide ongoing support to project managers as required
- In absence of Programme Director act as Deputy, take on all responsibilities and to ensure the progress of programme projects
- Assess complex issues, which may be technical in nature and develop your own understanding in order to assess the impact and assimilate them into projects
- Liaise with outside Forces and other organisations in a professional and competent manner
**What will I need ?**
**Key skills, knowledge, and experience required**:
- Must hold a relevant degree and/or a project management qualification or relevant experience
- You will have previous experience managing a team
**Desirable**:
- Experience within a policing environment, whilst desirable, is not essential.
- A full Driving Licence with daily access to your own transport and business insurance
The post holder must also be highly motivated with demonstrable experience of successfully managing organisational change and can provide expertise to enable effective management of demand.
