**About the role**
A great opportunity for a Countryside Officer within Bury Council has become available.
The role is to manage strategically the whole of the Countryside Service, allotments and Reservoir management, working with the Parks and Countryside Manager in the preparation of strategies, procedures, and Green Flag Park management plans.
Prepare, monitor and supervise projects and contracts in parallel with the Council policies and procedures
To be the lead representative at the various meetings involving Countryside, Fisheries and including walking and cycling groups etc.
To work in partnership with Grounds Maintenance regarding maintenance of Countryside sites, Country Parks etc.
Responsible to the Parks and Countryside Manager and responsible for the Greenspace and LNR Officer and Volunteer Support and Development Officer at Stock Street or working from home.
We are looking for someone who is keen on making a difference in the Countryside of Bury, a team player who is organised and motivated to strive for a better service and has managed staff and projects before and so can hit the ground running in this important role.
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work out of hours but time off in lieu can be claimed back.
