My client is looking for an experienced cook to join their supportive & friendly team at their Nursing home located in the Laurencekirk area of Montrose.
As the successful cook you will assist with the provision of a catering service within the home with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
Key Accountabilities
1.Undertakes the planning, preparation and cooking of meals, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the home.
2.Supervises assigned catering staff ensuring their quality of work continues to meet required operational standards and the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and guidelines.
3.Takes full shift responsibility for the catering operation (in the absence of the Head Chef).
4.Ensures the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries. Ensures that wastage is minimised.
Experience
- Some work experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Basic Hygiene/Food certificate or willing to work towards
- Personable & able to communicate positively with residents & staff
- Lives locally & able to commit to a permanent & full time role
- Happy to undertake a PVG check
**This role is working 16 hours per week
- Thursday/Friday one week
- Saturday/Sunday the next working shifts between 9.30am
- 6pm.**
