**Key Responsibilities**
- Utilising their forecasting, stock control and system knowledge, the Buyer will monitor daily/weekly/monthly requirements and place orders for relevant products accordingly.
- Ensure that suppliers adhere to price and delivery promises by checking purchase order acknowledgements.
- Monitor purchase order timescales to ensure timely delivery of goods and order fulfilment, keeping colleagues up to date on status of orders.
- Ensure up to date information is available and provided on product availability and delivery times.
- Keep both selling and purchase prices up to date on the system.
- Ensure that the sales team are advised on any costs for additional services such as freight, carriage and packing so that correct charges and billing can be applied.
- Respond to queries from the internal and external sales teams in a timely manner.
- Provide support to colleagues as required.

**Skills and Experience**
- Must have demonstrable experience as a Buyer and understand the requirements of the role.
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Must have an understanding of Economic Order Quantity ordering and have the ability to review and set up the stock system accordingly.
- Have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Able to work as part of a team but with the ability to manage own time and priorities effectively.
- Prior knowledge of hygiene and catering products would be an advantage but is not essential as full product training will be given.
