Aspire people are proud to be working with a well-respected and popular school in the Dudley area in finding a Cover Supervisor on either a Full Time or Part Time basis.
The role:
As a Cover Supervisor you will supervise classes of 25 - 35 students getting on with tasks that are pre-planned by the member of staff off work for a period of time.
Due to the nature of the role the most important aspect is that you are flexible and able to adapt to everchanging environments to ensure that the behaviour of students is managed to enable a positive learning environment and the work that has been set is completed.
Some other parts of the role include:
- Assisting where possible any students that have questions
- Adhering to school behaviour management and safeguarding policies
- Collecting completed work and leaving it for the returning teacher with a handover note
- If not covering a lesson you may be asked to support in another Teacher's lesson with students that may be struggling.
About you:
- Ideally you will have qualifications relevant to working in education. This could be a level 2 or 3 TA qualification or a degree in any discipline. This is desired but if you have experience working with groups of young people or are a student studying atuniversity you are still strongly encouraged to apply.
- Ability to build rapport with students quickly and effectively manage behaviour
- A sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures - we provide training on this so don't worry too much if you don't know this just yet we can give you the knowledge you need to be able to manage this.
