Spire Fylde Coast Hospital is based in the seaside town of Blackpool. We have 3 operating theatres undertaking a wide range of procedures in Orthopaedics, ENT, Spines, Ophthalmic, Urology, Vascular, Gynaecology, Endoscopy, Plastics and General Surgery.
Spire Flyde coast has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join the fantastic Finance team in Blackpool
Accountabilities and Activities
- Carry out daily charging of patient services and consultant fees and input into bespoke computerised system - liaising with relevant departments regarding charging queries
- Deal with queries from consultants, patients and insurers
- Collect payments for upcoming admissions, procedures and diagnostic tests from patients.
- Daily banking of patient and consultant monies, and completion of the monthly bank reconciliation
- Inputting of supplier invoices onto the hospitals patient administration system in a timely manner
- Set up new vendors and consultants on the patient administration system
- Monitor and review on a weekly basis the level of work in progress
- Provide ad-hoc cover within the Stores department, allowing the department to function as required during periods of absence or leave
- To liaise with patients, consultants and other departments in a professional manner at all times
- To facilitate and promote good communications throughout the business
**Qualifications and Training**
**Essential**
- Educated up to GCSE level including English and Mathematics
- Previous experience within an office setting
- Ability to pick up new computer software easily
**Desirable**
- Previous experience within a finance function or department
- Hospital or healthcare experience
- SAP and Microsoft Excel experience
