A permanent, full time and very varied role within Higher Education for an Investment Accountant who is Part-Qualified/ Finalist. The role is offering up to £40,000 and will be hybrid working.

**Client Details**

Our client provides a central service to the wider university that enables significant and increased delivery of international education. They liaise with many different stakeholders across the organisation including various Schools, Faculties and managementgroups to offer complete oversight of financial performance.

**Description**

The key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;
Progressing the restructure of the University's endowments in line with Charity Commission requirements and as approved by the University's Board of Governors.

Developing new accounting processes and related financial procedures as part of the University's Finance transformation project.

Developing effective and efficient financial and non-financial reporting for the University's endowments, including the merged endowment funds.

Working with the University's Development and Alumni Relations team and finance business partners across the University to plan endowment requirements and develop donor reporting.

Preparing budget and forecast information relating to endowments and investments as necessary.

Preparing the annual budgets and forecasts for specific larger endowments.

Processing transactions relating to the University's investment portfolio, including placement and withdrawal of funds and payment of management fees.

Being the main point of contact with the investment managers and the investment custodian in relation to all routine administrative matters

Preparing the required endowment and investment accounting journals, reconciliations, notes and related disclosures for the University's management accounts and financial statements.

Preparing investment and endowment information required under Freedom of Information requests.Liaising with the Charity Commission, internal and external auditors, investment managers, custodian and consultants and legal and financial advisors as requiredin relation to endowments and investments.

Providing financial technical expertise in relation to endowments and investments and planning the implications of accounting standards and legislative change for the University.

Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures and seeking opportunities to continuously improve procedures as necessary to adequately support the business activities.

**Profile**

Some understanding of charity or higher education finance would be desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence colleagues and external contacts
Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with finance and non-finance colleagues
Strong analytical skills
Ability to prioritise different and sometimes conflicting workloads in order to meet necessary deadlines
Preparing and/or auditing technically complex reconciliations and financial statements disclosures
Producing high quality written reports

**Job Offer**

A permanent, full time role within Higher Education;
Between £33,000 and £40,000 plus great benefits and flexibility;
Hybrid working.
