Support Worker Your new company This residential children's home in Merthyr focused on nurturing children and young people with emotional behaviour disorder and complex needs such as autism. It is not considered a challenging home, it's more settled andengaging in terms of activities in-home and within the community. They have a number of homes across South Wales who all have the same ethos that the child comes first and strive to provide the very best care they can. The children are between the ages of8-18 and may have come from backgrounds with adverse childhood experiences including substance abuse, domestic violence and SA. So, sensitive and understanding support workers help with the overall success of the care given. Your new role To provide outstandingcare to children while applying their individual care plans Engage in fulfilling activities Liaising with families and support workers to ensure the best possible independent care plans are provided and carried out Proactive approach to education and activityto improve key skills and self confidence. Ensure clear communication with individuals via a range of methods and inspire them to carry out any tasks. Engage in individual's transitioning periods by nurturing them to become a functioning member of wider societyTo make and maintain accurate records of activities and tasks carried out, including any incidents that may occur Carry out general housekeeping duties, which includes elements of personal care Apply safeguarding and protection to vulnerable individuals andensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone you support Comply with GDPR and Health and Safety regulations Shifts are 10am/10pm or 10pm/10am night shifts on a unique rota set out over 12 months in advance.
