What is great about the roleMerthyr Young Persons scheme provides emergency accommodation to 11 young people age 16-35 who are facing homelessness in the local area. The service focuses on empowering young people to gain independence through developing tenancy management skills in preparation for independent living.How you will make a differenceThe role will be varied and involve managing a team of colleagues to deliver a quality housing support service to vulnerable people in supported accommodation. You will be involved in building a reputation for excellence through partnership working service improvement and developing and motivating your team.You will inspire challenge and manage your team to improve performance and outcomes for people who use our services. You will also be responsible for staffs wellbeing coaching mentoring and supervision as well as enable the people who access our services to lead successful and independent lives.You willOversee the running of the service including health and safety on-going maintenance and neighbour relationships.Be responsible for the management of all staff including regular supervisions training and development HR procedures and recruitment and inductionBe responsible for the annual budget and monitoring the services incomeEnsure that advice is given on welfare rights permanent housing options and other associated information according to the needs and wishes of the customers.Ensure that customers receive resettlement advice as and when appropriate to address their move-on needs.Monitor the service and produce and amend procedures as appropriateBuild relationships and liaise with local neighbourhoods businesses commissioners and councilWho are we looking forYou will have had previous experience in a support environment and have a good understanding of leadership and management.In addition you will be able to demonstrate the ability to;supervise motivate and develop staffproduce concise accurate written reportsliaise and negotiate effectively to resolve problemsproduce concise accurate written reportsPobl Benefits Competitive salary of 31899.00Full-time (37 hrs) permanentWork Pattern: Predominantly Monday-Friday office hours although flexibility is required.Enhanced DBS check which we pay for26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days annual leavePension schemeSick Pay rising with length of service up to 6 months full pay after 4 yearsBespoke learning pathway with the support from an experienced Learning and Development teamInternal ProgressionWellbeing and psychological supportTime for Talk serviceColleague Discount platformBlue Light Card Eligibility giving discounts at 15000 brands45p per mileFREDIEAt Pobl Group we are guided in all that we do by a group of principles that we call FREDIE these are: Fairness Respect Equality Diversity Inclusion Engagement.
