Job Title: Cook - Learning Disability Residential Home
Halland House is a well-established learning disability residential home, located in a beautiful and tranquil setting in Halland, East Sussex. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment, where you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for our residents and helping them to learn how to cook.
**Responsibilities**:
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals for our residents, taking into account their dietary requirements and preferences.
- Manage the kitchen and ensure that it is clean, hygienic, and well-stocked at all times.
- Assist our residents in learning how to cook, providing guidance and support where needed.
- Ensure that all food is prepared and served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records of stock levels, orders, and deliveries.
- Liaise with other members of staff to ensure that the dietary needs of our residents are being met.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a residential or care home setting.
- Knowledge of different dietary requirements and the ability to plan and prepare meals accordingly.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to help others learn how to cook.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- A valid food hygiene certificate.
- A DBS check will be required for this role.
