Head of Capital Projects

We are recruiting for a Head of Capital Projects who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The Head of Capital has professional and managerial responsibility for the management of the estates capital programme.

Working closely with Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities Management, you will contribute to ensuring that the corporate objectives of the Trust are achieved. This includes but is not limited to:
The delivery of a comprehensive development control plan, multiple projects in various stages of development, decant and phasing strategy and management responsibility for the capital budget.

To actively work with executive colleagues to design, communicate and implement innovative service and facilities re-design across the organisation.

Responsible for planning, developing and delivering development projects and programmes for the buildings assets portfolio for the Trust. You will be well versed in developing & producing controlled development plans and risk-based investment strategies supporting organisation clinical strategies.

To be effective in this role, you will lead on the effective reporting of design, construction, and commissioning activities.

Manage the Trusts Capital Project Management Department to provide a comprehensive design, project management and property service to the Trust.

Manage and direct the delivery of the Trusts Annual Capital Programme in accordance with the agreed timescales and budgets and using HM Treasury Better Business Cases guidance where necessary.

Advise the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities on all professional building, construction and property matters.

Prepare technical reports for the Trust and Programme Board on capital development, property and estate management issues as and when required.

Act as intelligent client for the trust when procuring professional services for construction.

Act as main point of contract for the procurement and ongoing management of contractors and services providers in the delivery of capital projects.

Lead, train, support and develop the Capital project team.
