**The Role**
Join Bolton Council’s Public Health Team as a Principal Commissioning Officer, a key management role focused on transforming services for the Bolton community.

As Principal Commissioning Officer, you will provide project and strategic support for commissioning work across Public Health, as well as deputising for the Strategic Lead on commissioning matters. You’ll lead and develop a team of Commissioning Officers to ensure high-quality services meet local needs, as well as building collaborative relationships with service providers, users, and stakeholders.

You’ll ensure services deliver optimal outcomes, supporting and challenging commissioning projects to improve services across Bolton. The role requires working from Bolton Town Hall or attending local meetings at least half the week, per the Council’s Hybrid Working Policy.

You will have the ability to lead and work strategically on intelligence led and high-quality commissioning plans, strategies, and projects. You will be capable of balancing multiple areas of work, reporting on progress and delivering these within set timescales to achieve required outcomes. You will have excellent analytical and lateral thinking skills, alongside excellent IT skills, that you can effectively use to develop creative and innovative solutions, and you will be capable of leading and managing others to work both independently and as part of a team.
