Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate apprentice or trainee Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during patient treatments, ensuring a high standard of patient care and maintaining a smooth clinical operation. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional healthcare environment.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
  • Provide pre- and post-treatment care instructions to patients
  • Manage patient records accurately using IT systems and ensure confidentiality at all times
  • Support with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and patient correspondence
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation within the practice
  • Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions and providing reassurance as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in patient care or nursing is not essential, as training will be provided
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to relate well to patients and team members
  • Organised with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Basic IT skills for managing electronic patient records and appointment systems
  • A caring attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: £9.00-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
