Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)

Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)

Are you a Science graduate with a strong academic background and an interest in supporting pupils as a Science Academic Mentor this September?

A secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a Science Academic Mentor to join their support team for the new academic year. This role is ideal for graduates in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline who are passionate about helping students achieve their potential in Science. The Science Academic Mentor position provides an excellent stepping stone for those considering teacher training, research pathways or other school-based careers.

As a Science Academic Mentor, you'll provide targeted support across KS3 and KS4, working with pupils in need of extra help to understand scientific concepts and exam content. You'll run one-to-one and small-group interventions, reinforce classroom learning, and adapt materials to meet different levels of ability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3–KS4
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions to boost subject knowledge
  • Assisting with exam preparation and reinforcing classroom lessons
  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers

We're looking for:

  • A 2:1 or above in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field)
  • Strong subject knowledge and communication skills
  • A genuine interest in education and supporting pupils
  • Full academic year availability
