Position Summary

In this role, you will lead the development, operations, sales, and training strategies for A&K Tailormade products across all source markets. You will manage the Tailormade product team, responsible for delivering competitive offerings that support global sales and product expansion.

A key focus of this role is driving the technological transition to an integrated booking platform in collaboration with our Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and the Information Technology (IT) team. Success requires strong project management, strategic leadership in organizational transformation, and a deep understanding of competitive dynamics.

You will be accountable for achieving product-related goals including development, delivery, cost optimization, supplier relations, speed-to-market, and guest satisfaction—ensuring alignment across all verticals involved in the lifecycle of Tailormade products.

Essential Duties

  • Lead the Tailormade product team to ensure timely development and release of products across all source markets, aligned with booking lead times and annual development timelines.

  • Oversee the optimization and consistency of the technology platform and standards; foster strategic relationships with technology partners and identify opportunities for integration with new DMCs.

  • Ensure all Tailormade products meet evolving brand standards and maintain consistency across markets.

  • Maximize profitability through strategic development of products featuring company-owned assets (DMCs, lodges, camps, boats).

  • Manage global hotel and excursion inventory for Tailormade destinations, ensuring alignment with preferred supplier strategies.

  • Drive operational efficiency through departmental systems, policies, and procedures that support collaboration, service excellence, and business growth.

  • Direct product development, pricing, and competitive negotiations to ensure timely delivery of market-appropriate offerings to sales and marketing teams.

  • Analyze booking trends and conversion rates; identify risks and opportunities in collaboration with Revenue Management and source market leaders.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the global competitive landscape and lead cross-functional awareness initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Global Product Strategy on strategic growth opportunities, quarterly performance reviews, and marketing updates.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive product training plans for sales and product teams; coordinate cross-departmental communication and support.

  • Lead Product Managers in achieving quality goals, operational efficiencies, and team development through training, motivation, and performance evaluations.

  • Conduct monthly product quality audits and global compliance journeys in partnership with DMCs.

  • Cultivate strategic relationships with DMCs, hoteliers, tourist offices, and suppliers to enhance product knowledge and foster innovation.

Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of global business and travel industry practices

  • Proven leadership, organizational, and team development capabilities

  • Strong analytical thinking, commercial acumen, and strategic decision-making

  • Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal)

  • Advanced negotiation and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core business software tools

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 10+ years of relevant travel industry experience

  • Extensive knowledge of business and industry practices

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in tour planning and pricing, contracting and yield management

  • Previous staff management required

Special Requirements

  • Must maintain a valid passport

  • Attendance at after-hours trade functions and site inspections

  • Frequent and lengthy international travel is expected, sometimes on short notice

  • Available to be on call 24/7 as required

  • Located near Downers Grove, IL or London, England
