The Believe Foundation is a charity with an important yet impactful vision of helping victims throughout their healing journey, by providing ongoing support, guidance and a safe place for the victims. We are passionate about supporting the Victims integrate back into the community the right way.

The Believe Foundation is looking for an experienced and driven Treasurer to lead on the overall financial strategy and operations for the charity. The role will be working remotely and is a non paid position.

Role Overview
:

As a Treasurer, you will play a pivotal role in leading on the financial strategy and cash flow for the charity, ensuring you comply with the governance of the organisation, working towards the future mission and goals of the charity.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the financial position of the charity and report to the Board regarding cash-flow, forecasting and budgeting
  • Help the chair to Analyse, develop and implement the future financial strategy along with the management of the organisation's financial resources.
  • Monitor and Mitigate any risks that the charity may face and regularly report on the financial health to the board of Trustees
  • Act as a counter signatory for payments and applications to funders and ensure that annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in a timely fashion.
  • Liaise with other external auditors on financial issues and risks, ensuring that the charities finances are correctly managed
  • Prepare financial information for fundraising applications and Grants
  • Monitor the income streams such as Gift Aid, fundraising, Grants and online merchandise

Skills and Experience:

  • A qualification within accounting ie. CIMA or ACCA
  • Knowledge of charity SORP and managing difficult changes
  • Working knowledge of developing financial strategies
  • Have an understanding of charity law (within a similar field is desirable)
  • Strong IT skills including Excel
  • Ability to show transparency and clear communication when discussing the financial information of the charity to the Board and Trustees
  • Strong Analytical and evaluation skills
  • Understanding the legal responsibility involved as a Treasurer
