*Overview*

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience testing and inspecting all equipment on hire fleet and ensure it is safe for rehire. previous experience as a car mechanic, engineer or hydraulic hose fitter

*What skills and experience are essential to do this job?

· At least five years experience in a similar role

· The knowledge to be able to carry out electric diagnostics

· Knowledge of fault finding

· The ability to use power tools in a safe and efficient manner

· Excellent communication skills in order to carry out the role in a professional attitude.

· To be well organised and manage own work load as well as work as part of a team.

· Experience of working under pressure and managing tight deadlines.

· The ability to read and understand schematics.

What do I need to achieve and deliver to be effective in this job?

· Carry out general maintenance and PDI inspections on equipment to a good standard.

· To carry out safety, functional and operational checks to all equipment on our hire fleet.

· Follow check lists/ inspection cards where necessary when inspecting machinery.

· PAT test electrical equipment in line with current legislation.

· To have own basic took kit and look after own tools, and use correctly.

· Be competent to test the specific machinery that you are signing off.

· Carry out repairs when necessary

· Remove and replace damaged components on equipment.

· Service hire fleet at periodic intervals

· Refurbish hire fleet when needed.

· Ensure all tasks are carried out safely.

· Ensure that all PPE is worn at all times

· To ensure all damaged machines are put into quarantine, tagged and isolated and put into service repair area.

· Check parts lists, when needing to order new items

· Keep work area clean and safe

· To carry work out on site as and when required.

· To undertake any other duties or special projects which may be regarded as within the responsibility of the post.

To be successful in this role I may have experience in these areas:

· Working under pressure

· Meeting deadlines

· Manufacturer's specific training

It would be an advantage if I have these qualifications:

· NVQ in Plant Maintenance/ engineering or mechanical qualifications

· IPAF Operators license

· Manufacturer Specific Training

· PAT Test training

· CAPS license
