Injection Moulding Technician

We're looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Technician to join our production team. You'll be responsible for carrying out efficient tool changes, maintaining high-quality standards, and maximising uptime across all moulding machines.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on moulding experience who enjoys solving production issues, improving processes, and ensuring the smooth running of all shift operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and run injection moulding machines in line with the production plan.
- Carry out tool changes safely and efficiently to maximise uptime.
- Use production monitoring systems to record and track machine performance.
- Identify and resolve quality issues in collaboration with the Quality team.
- Apply SMED principles to reduce tool change times.
- Target and improve cycle times across all machines to achieve quoted performance levels.
- Support problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Record process settings and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, tidy, and compliant with 5S standards.
- Communicate effectively with shift and production managers to maintain smooth workflow.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Report hazards, accidents, or near misses immediately.
- Use all PPE correctly and maintain equipment in safe working condition.
- Keep workstations clear and compliant with company and HSE standards.
Development & Training
- Support and help train new staff where required.
- Identify areas for personal and team development through regular reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in productivity and quality.
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday: rotating shifts every two weeks
- 07:00 – 15:00
- 15:00 – 23:00
- 23:00 – 07:00
- 40 hours per week, including a 30-minute paid break per shift.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in injection moulding setup, conditioning, and process optimisation.
- Ability to read technical documentation and troubleshoot machine issues.
- Good understanding of moulding parameters and cycle time improvement.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and committed to maintaining quality and efficiency.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
