Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a School Business Manager, based in Liverpool. The School Business Manager will be responsible for managing the school's finances, HR, and administration. Daily tasks include budgeting, financial planning, payroll, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires collaboration with school leadership and staff to maintain efficient operations and support educational goals.

The ideal candidate will have a background in school operations, finance, or business management -ideally having held roles such as Director of Operations, School Business Manager (SBM), or similar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the school's budget, ensuring financial stability and effective resource allocation.
  • Oversee all administrative functions, including human resources, payroll, and procurement.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team to achieve strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, particularly those related to SEN education.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including parents, vendors, government bodies, and educational authorities.
  • Provide leadership and support to the administrative staff.
  • Contribute to the school's community engagement and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial planning
  • Knowledge of HR practices, payroll, and staff management
  • Strong administrative skills and familiarity with regulatory compliance
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school leadership and staff
  • Experience in the education sector is a plus
