Job Description

Bank Theatre Decontamination Technician

The role

The safety of our patients and our people is paramount to us at Ramsay Health Care UK. That's why our work in the Decontamination Unit is so vital. It's here that we sterilise all the instruments and equipment needed to deliver a wide variety of surgical procedures and treatments across the hospital. Join us, and you'll help bring peace of mind to our patients, their families, and our hard-working teams, as you deliver for your customers across a complex and changing caseload that's full of variety.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, including our consultants, you'll make sure our teams have the equipment they need when they need it, and our patients have a positive experience. In everything you do, you'll actively promote best practice and contribute towards quality improvements.

We are looking for an experienced individual to join us on a Bank contract at our Oaks Hospital.

What is a Bank Contract

A Bank contract at Ramsay Health Care UK is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospitals. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work. Our Bank staff play a crucial role in maintaining service levels during peak times or staff shortages, ensuring that patient care remains uninterrupted.

Where you'll be based

Located conveniently on the outskirts of Colchester, the hospital opened on this site in 1994, with plenty of free parking for patients. All of our Consultants undergo rigorous vetting procedures, ensuring only those who are qualified and experienced are granted practising privileges which are reviewed on a regular basis. Our consultants are supported by a team of highly experienced and friendly nursing staff who have your care and comfort as their highest priority. You also have the reassurance that a Resident Doctor is available 24 hours a day.

What you'll bring with you

If you have experience in this field that's going to be beneficial – but it's not essential. If you're eager to learn, we can support you through our Ramsay Academy to gain the skills and qualifications you need to join – and then develop – in the department. If you are flexible and versatile, with a real can-do attitude, you'll be perfect for this fast-paced, patient-centered role.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Flexible shift options
  • Free uniform
  • Free Off Site parking
  • A range of flexible benefits
