New Business Legal Assistant
to join a leading, well-established law firm based in Sheffield. This role sits within the firm's
Family Law department
, supporting the team by managing new client enquiries and ensuring a smooth transition from initial contact through to formal instruction.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the firm's reputation for exceptional client care, providing informed and professional support to individuals seeking family law services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for prospective family law clients, handling enquiries by telephone, email, and online platforms.
  • Assessing client needs and converting enquiries into formal instructions.
  • Providing clear, empathetic, and professional communication throughout the onboarding process.
  • Liaising with solicitors and legal support staff to ensure seamless client handovers.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with firm policies and compliance requirements.

About You:

  • Experience working within a
    legal or professional services environment
    is
    highly advantageous
    , particularly within family law or related practice areas.
  • Proven ability to convert enquiries into instructions while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and understanding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Full training will be provided on the firm's systems, processes, and any legal terminology as required.
