The Role

To offer financial, technical and contractual support to Admiral's Internal Adjuster Network. Assessing complex domestic property caims, through a combination of:

  • Reviewing and approving repair schedules and scopes of work produced by members of our internal adjusters and wider external Adjuster network.
  • Surveying residential property damage, determining the cause and delivering a schedule of works

Your focus will be on ensuring that we deliver great customer outcomes whilst simultaneously ensuring claims costs are properly managed.

You will manage a wide range of building repair projects within the claims portfolio, liaising closely with, customers, colleagues and our supply chain. This will require time spent on site as well as within a hybrid office environment and visiting members of our supply chain.

Actively engage in the process of driving continuous improvement in our claims handling through:

  • Providing technical assistance on complex losses, large value claims and complaint cases
  • Collaborative review of specific cases to identify areas of leakage and contribute to root cause analysis
  • Providing coaching and development opportunities for other members of the department.
  • Contractor management throughout the life cycle of allocated cases
  • Financial reconciliation of initial scopes, quotes, estimates, variation orders, and final accounts
  • Observation of supplier performance on a claim by claim and feeding back into our wider supply chain function
  • Providing technical advice to members of the claims department to aid in their handling of domestic property damage claims
  • Ensure you maintain up to date knowledge and awareness of technical and commercial trends and issues, playing an active role in product & process improvement

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to manage your own workload on a day-to-day basis
  • Previous hands-on experience in a professional surveying environment
  • Professional QS/Building Surveying qualification or equivalent preferred
  • MCIOB, IOSH or NEBOSH qualified would be desirable or similar is desirable
  • Chartered status and a current member of a professional body i.e. MCIOB or RICS is desirable
  • BDMA Ins Tech or equivalent desired
  • Health and Safety – ROSPA or equivalent
  • Experience of contract negotiations and working with a schedule of rates
  • Commercial awareness
  • Flexibility to travel as and when is required
  • Knowledge of current application of building regulations and planning controls within domestic residential property
  • Experience of working within the insurance repair market
