Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of care. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, whether they are residing in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or receiving care at home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a genuine passion for helping others, particularly seniors and those with specialised needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties as needed to ensure a clean living space.
- Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as senior care, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and patient care practices is beneficial.
- Certification in first aid is an asset; willingness to obtain certification if not already held is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for roles that require transportation of clients.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A caring and patient demeanour with a commitment to providing high-quality support to individuals in need.
