Oldbury, Sandwell, United Kingdom WMJobs Full time £25,000 - £35,000 per year

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council,

Ready to help shape the future of talent acquisition in local government and make a real impact?
Are you passionate about supporting others, keen to learn, and ready to try new ways of working? If you enjoy working with data, spotting patterns, and helping teams succeed, Sandwell Council wants to hear from you as our next Talent Acquisition Support.

In this role, you'll play a vital part in shaping our future workforce by assisting the Talent Advisors, gathering and organising information from across the council, providing valuable data insights, and ensuring our teams have what they need to connect talented people with meaningful opportunities. You'll report directly to the Talent Lead, working closely with colleagues in HR, Policy, Organisational Development, and Change, and learning from experienced advisors along the way.

Your work will help us fill critical and hard-to-fill roles and identify ways to bring in the future talent, and ensure our workforce reflects the diversity and values of our communities. You'll be encouraged to bring fresh ideas, champion technology-led improvements, and help make the hiring experience smoother and more inclusive for everyone.

You'll be part of a supportive team where you can grow, develop, and show your individual strengths, all while helping to strengthen our employer brand and shape the future of public service in Sandwell. If you're ready to bring energy, curiosity, and a drive to make a difference, join us and help shape the future of Sandwell

You'll need:

  • Some experience working with data, information, or supporting teams—ideally in a people, HR, or admin role
  • Confidence, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn from others
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to solving challenges
  • The ability to build strong working relationships and support colleagues to succeed
  • Excitement about using data and digital tools to make a difference
  • A customer-focused mindset, always promoting Sandwell as an employer of choice
  • Curiosity about technology and AI, and an interest in finding smarter, simpler ways to support our teams
  • Commitment to our values: One Team, Customer Focused, Inclusive, Ambitious, and Accountable

To apply please submit your CV and supporting statement (no more than two sides of A4).
Your supporting statement should describe how you meet the essential criteria set out in the person specification for the role as this will be used for shortlisting.
