We are partnering with a leading global law firm to support the hire of an experienced
Assistant Company Secretary
. This is an excellent opportunity for a governance professional to take on a high-impact role within a regulated, fast-paced environment. The organisation is open to candidates coming from both listed and non-listed company backgrounds, provided they can demonstrate strong technical governance capability and confidence operating with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
As Assistant Company Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of robust governance and company secretarial services. Typical responsibilities include:
Board & Committee Support
- Preparing agendas, circulating papers, and maintaining forward planners.
- Attending meetings, drafting clear and accurate minutes, and monitoring follow-up actions.
- Supporting the coordination and smooth running of Board and Committee cycles.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintaining statutory registers and ensuring timely filings with relevant authorities.
- Supporting governance reporting requirements and assisting with assurance processes.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and helping to embed best-practice frameworks.
Governance Advisory Support
- Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on governance policies, delegated authorities, and procedural matters.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of governance policies, charters, and terms of reference.
Entity Management & Corporate Administration
- Managing corporate records and supporting the maintenance of legal entities.
- Coordinating intra-group approvals, resolutions, and corporate documentation.
Project & Continuous Improvement Work
- Supporting governance projects, including process enhancements, digitalisation initiatives, and policy updates.
- Contributing to audit requests, reviews, and internal governance reporting.
