If you're an experienced SJP paraplanner based in the Manchester area, we'd love to hear from you.

We're a busy team with a diverse client bank, writing a wide variety of business including for business owners, clients with IHT issues, and long-term care.

We're looking for a permanent full-time in-house paraplanner to handle the majority of the paraplanning for one (very busy) adviser, and we're looking to grow the business significantly over the coming years. This is a role that can very much grow and develop as time goes on, for the right person.

What we're looking for:

  • Ideally you will be level 4 Diploma qualified and studying towards Chartered status
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience working for other SJP practices
  • Strong knowledgeable of St. James's Place's advice procedures and systems
  • A genuine interest in financial planning and improving our clients' lives
  • Highly organised, efficient, and have a great eye for detail and accuracy
  • Friendly to everyone you meet, a team-player and you wants everyone to succeed
  • Excellent communicator with impeccable written English
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Outlook, Excel, Word) and SJP's systems (Salesforce, My Practice and iBusiness)

What you'll be doing:

  • Full paraplanning of all types of cases, especially pension transfers, top-ups and new money investments
    (Don't worry if you haven't come across all types of cases, as some complex cases may be outsourced)
  • Documenting annual drawdown reviews and drawdown advice
    (Our client bank skews younger than average so drawdown cases are less common for us than for other firms)
  • Liaising with relevant SJP teams and colleagues to ensure compliance with internal and SJP procedures, to ensure we deliver the best client outcomes in a timely manner
  • You'll be supported by 2 other PSS who will handle admin, letters of authority, business processing, booking appointments etc – you'll be able to focus solely on paraplanning
