The Speech Research team in Cambridge UK is looking for passionate PhD students to work on controllable speech generation system in the framework of multi-modal large language model. As a member of our team, you will contribute to pioneering research topics, collaborate with extraordinary machine learning and speech researchers, push forward innovative research agendas and publish ground-breaking research in international conferences.
Description
The speech generation system with controllability enables the customers to control the speaker identity, accent and emotion of the synthetic speech and provides the personalised service to the customers. If you are interested in this topic, our team is the perfect place for you to explore this further. You will receive technical mentorship and guidance from a dedicated senior researcher and will be able to collaborate with a dynamic, multidisciplinary and international team of researchers and engineers. Together with your mentor, you will develop the technologies which will impact the scientific research community, future Apple products, and society.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants need to be pursuing a PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related technical field.
Strong mathematical skills in linear algebra and statistics.
Hands-on experience working with Python and deep learning toolkits such as PyTorch and Jax
Proven expertise in machine learning supported by a good publication record in relevant conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICASSP, InterSpeech, AAAI, ACL …).
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to formulate a research problem, design, experiment and implement solutions.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
