About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a recently restructured Facilities Management Team at West Suffolk Council. The role is based at Mildenhall Hub.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, can work on their own initiative as well as part of a team, have excellent problem solving and communication skills and a can-do attitude.

The purpose of the role is to ensure council buildings are clean, safe, secure and functional for those working within buildings managed by Property Services.

Duties will include opening and closing of council buildings, completing regular Health and Safety checks and inspections, liaising with building users and responding to enquiries, assisting with emergency evacuation and implementing Health and Safety emergency procedures. Supervising contractors while working on site and ensuring they comply with building safety procedures.

Part of the role will be to provide security support for council meetings and in buildings; therefore, the successful candidate will need to hold a SIA Door Guarding Licence or willing to attend the course and exam.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37 hours per week, the working pattern will be as follows:
