We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team at the Afan mountain lodge. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting chefs in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Duties

  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
  • Support cooking staff by preparing ingredients and assisting in basic cooking tasks when required.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are kept tidy and free from hazards to promote a safe working environment.
  • Help with the storage of food items and supplies, ensuring proper rotation and organisation.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
  • Assist in serving meals during busy periods, contributing to an efficient service experience for guests.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is advantageous.
  • A background in hospitality or culinary arts would be beneficial for this role.
