Overview

We are seeking a motivated and technically curious Apprentice IT Consultant to join our dynamic IT team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about technology, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to the delivery of secure, modern IT services.

What you'll do at work

Day to day duties and responsibilities including:

  • Support service desk: triage tickets, meet SLAs
  • Deploy & manage Windows 11 via Intune
  • Package & distribute apps with version control
  • Assist with Azure cloud setup & maintenance
  • Monitor security, support Cyber Essentials
  • Provide remote/on-site support
  • Help onboard clients with Azure solutions
  • Contribute to IT projects
  • Maintain documentation & asset records

2–4 years of IT support experience. Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Intune. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration. Experience with Azure environment management (deployment, monitoring, maintenance). Awareness of cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection. Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g. TeamViewer). Basic understanding of Docker containers (desirable, not essential). Ability to manage priorities and work to agreed SLAs. Based at GM61's Head Office in a rural location. Full driving licence essential with use of own car. Some travel to customer sites will be required.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
