Warehouse / Yard Operative

Salary: £ per annum

42.5 hours per week

This role will be entitled to overtime

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our central hub and support in providing a smooth and efficient service, whilst maintaining Health and Safety standards and SafeSite processes. Most of the activities will be happening outside, loading lorries and trucks, and supporting in the delivery of our products to our customers.

Principle Duties & Accountabilities

The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:

• Load/unload vehicles manually and using forklifts where possible
• Ensure loads are correct product, number and secure for transit
• Ensure that stock leaves warehouse labelled and in clean condition
• Check returning stock for damaged or missing items and complete return notes accurately
• Ensure that stock is stored safely according to guidelines
• Attend weekly/monthly team briefings as required
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and that actions taken do not endanger yourself or others
• Co-operate with management and ensure all works are carried out to a high-quality
• Wear all PPE as required by company procedure
• Inspect and report daily any defects to tools and equipment directly to the Warehouse Manager
• Deliver equipment as required
• Report any hazards, near misses, accidents, incidents as soon as possible to the Warehouse Manager
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping
• To carry out any other duties appropriate for this post

Role Demands

The role requires the post holder to be capable of lifting and carrying equipment following Health & Safety procedure. The role may require working overtime to support in operational goals.

Level of Knowledge & Experience

• Familiar with working in a warehouse an advantage
• A forklift qualification an advantage but not essential, training will be provided

Skills

• Teamwork and excellent communication skills
• Must be able to lift and move equipment - following proper health and safety processes
• Numeracy – Working with numbers and product codes
• Computer literate

• Self-motivated and disciplined
• To be able to follow written instructions
• Honest, respectful and trustworthy
