The role
APC Platform Management
- Design, configure, and maintain APC solutions tailored to paper & pulp processes (e.g., digester control, bleaching, drying, stock preparation).
- Collaborate with OEM vendors to implement and optimize APC algorithms and models.
- Monitor APC system performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
OEM Integration To OT/IT Platforms
- Integrate APC platforms with plant-level OT systems (DCS, PLCs, SCADA) and enterprise-level IT systems (MES, ERP, Historian).
- Ensure secure and reliable data exchange between APC and other digital platforms.
- Develop and maintain APIs, OPC UA/DA interfaces, and data pipelines for real-time analytics.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with process engineers, IT teams, cybersecurity, and OEM partners.
- Provide technical leadership in digital transformation projects involving APC.
- Train plant personnel on APC usage and troubleshooting.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure APC systems comply with industry standards and cybersecurity protocols.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system architecture, configurations, and integration workflows
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Control, Automation, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in APC implementation in paper & pulp or similar process industries.
- Strong knowledge of APC platforms (e.g., Honeywell Profit Controller, ABB OPT800, Aspen DMCplus).
- Experience with OT/IT integration technologies (OPC, MQTT, REST APIs, edge computing).
- Familiarity with industrial protocols and cybersecurity standards (ISA-95, ISA/IEC
- Experience with cloud-based industrial platforms (e.g., Azure IoT, AWS IoT, GE Predix).
- Knowledge of data analytics tools (Python, R, Power BI) for process optimization.
- Certifications in APC or industrial automation platforms.
