Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our nursery cook for 2 days a week - Monday and Thursday. The hours are 10am to 5pm, with an hours lunch break, all year round. The ideal candidate will support with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation for children's meals and snacks, ensuring all allergy and dietary needs are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
  • step up in the cooks absence when needed.

Requirements

  • Kitchen experience is required.
  • Food safety qualification and training is preferred.
  • Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
