As part of our team of professional fabricators, you construct and manufacture metal parts and products, taking particular care to produce clean, polished welds. You follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes. You are responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be able to perform simple tests to ensure weld quality and tolerance..

Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine fabrication requirements with full knowledge in structural and architecture metal works

- · Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals

- Perform machining operations

- Fabricate and assemble metal structures using welding techniques

- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy

- Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as required

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a fabricator/welder or similar role

- Proficient in machine operation and fabrication techniques

- Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision

- Ability to operate welding equipment safely and effectively

- Good physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and equipment

- Forklift certification is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Southall: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Fabrication: 2 years (required)
• Structural steel: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (preferred)
