Responsibilities:

- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required

- Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials, and equipment

- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and companies/clients to ensure accurate and timely estimates

- Review and evaluate bids from clients and suppliers

- Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids

- Track project costs and provide regular updates to project managers

- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules

- Participate in pre-manufacturing meetings and site visits as needed

1. Review Project Specifications:

Analyse and interpret project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand client requirements.

1. Quantification and Take-off:

2. Conduct material take-offs and quantify the required steel components for fabrication.

3. Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure accurate interpretation of design
   
   requirements.

4. Cost Estimation:

5. Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication projects, including labour, materials,
   
   equipment, and overhead costs.

6. Utilize industry-standard pricing databases and historical data to ensure accuracy.

7. Bid Preparation:

8. Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that are competitive, compliant, and aligned with
   
   client expectations.

9. Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to develop winning strategies.

10. Vendor and Supplier Relations:

11. Obtain and evaluate quotes from vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and
    
    quality.

12. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.

13. Risk Assessment:

14. Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with each project.

15. Provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.

16. Communication:

17. Effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to gather
    
    necessary information and clarify project requirements.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Steelwork Fabrication Estimator in the construction or steel
  
  fabrication industry.

• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirement

- Bachelor's degree in estimating or related field preferred

- Proven experience as a Estimator or similar role

- Strong knowledge of steel engineering methods, materials, and regulations

- Proficient in using microsoft excel,estimating software, and tools

- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail

- Strong communication and negotiation skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Contract length: 24 months

Pay: £26,000.00-£42,500.00 per year
