Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in food preparation and service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and managing the smooth running of shifts to meet organisational objectives.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of service.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and oversee inventory control.
  • Provide training and support to staff on culinary techniques, customer service, and health & safety procedures.
  • Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and motivate team members to achieve targets.
  • Assist in organising shift schedules to optimise staffing levels.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment in accordance with health regulations.

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes.
  • Experience in managing teams within a fast-paced environment such as restaurants or bars.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
  • Previous experience in hospitality roles such as serving or barista work is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with kitchen operations, culinary techniques, and restaurant management practices is highly desirable. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead a dynamic team while ensuring operational excellence in a vibrant hospitality setting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.68 per hour
