Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and demonstrate excellent communication skills. This role requires the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries, and ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining safety standards.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, tippers with steel body, in the safe transportation of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic laws.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or queries professionally.
- Assist in basic vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role is essential.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards is required.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Previous warehouse experience will be beneficial for understanding logistics operations.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Experience operating flatbed vehicles is preferred but not mandatory. We welcome applications from candidates who are committed to delivering exceptional service while ensuring the highest standards of safety on the road.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
