Contract Type: Fixed Term Full Time
Salary: £38,000-£40,000
Workplace: ITV Leeds + Hybrid - expectation is minimum 2 days in the Leeds office per week.
Closing Date: 9th November 2025
The team..
As part of the wider Legal Team, the Rights Management department works to provide all areas of the business, and ITV's strategic partners, with visibility and access to its content, "what have we got, and what can we do with it?" The department engages with many areas of the business to provide rights availability and cost information in order to licence content – including via internal trading. Licensing of content itself leads to payment and reporting obligations that also rely on accurate rights data.
The role..
This 14-month fixed-term contract offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in ITV's Legal & Rights Management department. As the Senior Rights Executive reporting to the Rights Manager, you'll be at the heart of ensuring ITV's award-winning content reaches audiences far and wide — supporting the business to maximise the value of our creative output. This role exists to strengthen the team during a period of high activity, helping to deliver seamless rights management across ITV's extensive content portfolio. You'll work collaboratively across Legal, Sales, and Distribution teams to safeguard our rights, drive compliance, and enable the smooth exploitation of ITV's content worldwide.
Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Interpret, input, and verify rights information for all ITV content in the company's rights and talent payment systems, ensuring compliance with established policies and standards.
- Assess rights availability and provide accurate clearance and cost information to internal stakeholders within agreed deadlines.
- Support ITV's Sales and Distribution teams with the creation, documentation, and maintenance of licences as required.
- Assist the Rights Manager in monitoring adherence to departmental policies, standards, and KPIs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners to ensure the timely and accurate flow of rights information.
- Collaborate with the Talent and Royalty Payments teams to authorise payments by validating rights and talent data in relevant systems.
- Work alongside the Head of Rights Management and the Rights Manager to contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of rights management systems and processes.
- Identify and resolve rights clearance and cost issues; where appropriate, manage rights renewals and conduct risk assessments in consultation with senior management.
- Deliver all services in line with Rights department Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Stay informed of current rights and talent union developments through departmental updates and communications.
Skills you'll need
(minimum criteria)
- Strong experience in Rights Management, including rights clearance, exploitation, and governance, ideally gained in a broadcast or media setting. Relevant experience in TV distribution/sales, business affairs, or paralegal roles will also be considered.
- Proficiency in rights management systems, such as PARIS or Rightsline, or comparable systems used for rights and talent data management.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to assess rights availability and costs in line with business objectives and compliance requirements.
Other things we're looking for
(key criteria)
- Excellent organisational and information management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring data integrity across all rights systems and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborative approach, working effectively with colleagues in Legal, Sales, Distribution, and other departments to deliver shared goals.
- Service excellence mindset, ensuring high-quality support and responsiveness to internal partners and external clients.
- Confidence in knowledge sharing, helping to develop team capability by sharing insights and best practices.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, with the ability to analyse data and produce clear, concise reports.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, recommend solutions, and make informed decisions.
- Adaptability and resilience, maintaining focus and accuracy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Understanding of ITV's 'More Than TV' strategy and enthusiasm for contributing to its success through effective rights management and content exploitation.
Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We'd encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.
