This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver an innovative digital patient support programme in weight management. The position focuses on developing and growing a platform that enhances patient care and sets new standards in support delivery. The role involves collaboration with senior stakeholders and external partners to shape national standards and create a compliant, data-driven, patient-centred solution. The Patient Access Executive will oversee the programme from conception to implementation, with the independence to innovate, optimise, and make a meaningful difference in improving patient outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the main point of contact for the Patient Support Programme (PSP), coordinating internal teams and managing the partnership with the external vendor.
  • Oversee the vendor's delivery of the digital platform, ensuring compliance with all contractual, governance, and regulatory requirements (ABPI, MHRA, GDPR, pharmacovigilance, NHS).
  • Manage the end-to-end process for content uploads, referencing, certification, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Maintain full documentation, including referencing packs, claims matrices, and audit trails, ensuring that all materials are compliant and certified.
  • Coordinate cross-functional contributions from medical, compliance, IT, patient relations, and marketing teams to ensure programme readiness.
  • Provide clear briefs and feedback to the vendor, enabling efficient delivery and alignment with project goals.
  • Support pharmacovigilance processes for adverse event and product complaint reporting, as well as data protection and privacy compliance.
  • Work with brand and cross-functional teams to align content with strategic objectives and integrate resources effectively across communication channels.
  • Manage the launch of the PSP, ensuring all materials, field team briefings, and activation assets are compliant, certified, and delivered on time.
  • Oversee the rollout of content plans, training materials, FAQs, stakeholder communications, and toolkits to support internal and external engagement.
  • Prepare field teams for launch through briefings, learning modules, competency checks, and compliant Q&A sessions.
  • Develop and maintain an activation playbook outlining contact points, asset usage, and success metrics.
  • Coordinate governance meetings, steering groups, and progress updates.
  • Support vendor and internal teams throughout launch activities, resolving issues and maintaining alignment with strategic goals.
  • Continuous Improvement and Growth
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the NHS and patient pathways within cardiometabolic therapy areas.
  • Monitor and report on the quality and consistency of service delivery and coaching standards provided by the vendor.
  • Track patient engagement, outcomes, and service performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and healthcare professionals to refine programme materials and processes.
  • Use data insights to enhance messaging, content, and training for better patient engagement and programme effectiveness.
  • Lead segmentation and targeting efforts to optimise patient reach and impact.
  • Manage budget, resources, and vendor performance to ensure efficiency, scalability, and measurable value.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the pharmaceutical, patient support, or healthcare sectors, ideally within cardiometabolic therapy.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice and experience in patient support, collaborative or joint working, and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Proficiency in certification processes and systems such as Veeva Vault PromoMats or similar platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident in decision-making and managing complex, ambiguous situations.
  • Capable of balancing long-term strategic goals with short-term operational delivery.
