We are seeking a diligent and reliable Class1 Tanker Driver / operative to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have attention to detail and be able to work various environments, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A background in industrial services / environmental services using a variety of equipment is advantageous, as some tasks may involve maintenance duties.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a HGV Tanker / Jetvac Driver / operative

Based at our Scunthorpe Depot, drivers will be responsible for driving and operating specialised vehicles that are used for a variety of works including cleaning and maintenance of sewers, drains, industrial tanks and other related systems. Work Projects, will include drainage related issues, including sludge and foul waste, tankering, cesspool and septic tank emptying, interceptors and pump stations, blockage clearance, pipe cleansing, hauling and safely disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Experience of driving tankers operating a Disab and jetting equipment is essential.

The role will involve manual work as well as driving and may include supporting workloads at other depots / locations.

Day-to-day tasks include driving, operating trucks and operating equipment while ensuring compliance is kept to a high standard.

Loading & unloading waste materials at designated facilities.

All drivers will be expected to follow strict safety guidelines & maintain a clean and efficient truck.

Experience:

• Experience Driving Tankers and operating HPWJ equipment.
• Working in Confined Spaces.
• Have a good understanding of Jetting & Vacuuming- Disab equipment.
• Safety is a top priority when working in this field. You will need to follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. You should also be aware of potential hazards and take precautions to avoid them.
• This job can be physically demanding, requiring you to lift heavy hoses and other equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight confined spaces.
• Experience working on an industrial site or similar profession.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately You will need to communicate effectively with your team and other workers on the job site. This includes listening to instructions, asking questions, and providing feedback.
• Problem solving and decision making- You should be able to think creatively and come up with solutions to unexpected problems that may arise on the job.
• Operating site-specific tools and equipment.
• You will need to manage your time effectively to ensure that you complete jobs within the required time frame.
• You should be meticulous in your work, paying close attention to details to ensure that everything is done correctly including completion of any documentation.
• You may need to interact with customers and the general public, so you should be friendly and professional.
• Follow site specific health and safety protocols- You will need to be aware of environmental regulations and take steps to minimize the impact of your work on the environment.
• Complete all required checks for vehicles daily / timely defect reporting / WTD / Driver's hours / Tachos where required and maintain your vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £15.30 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
